What we do . . .

COUNSELING

The SBDC offers free one-on-one counseling on business startup, loans and financing, financial statement analysis, marketing, accounting and recordkeeping, sales, advertising, business planning and management. Opportunities for business growth, government contracting, exporting, market expansion and new emerging technologies can be explored. Counseling services are available for both start-up and existing businesses in retail, wholesale, manufacturing and service.

TRAINING

The SBDC offers low-cost seminars, conferences and workshops addressing the needs of small businesses. Working with qualified individuals recruited from business, colleges and chambers of commerce, the SBDC provides instruction on both general and specific business topics. Courses range from introductory topics for those planning to start a business to more advanced seminars aimed at the experienced small business owner.

INFORMATION

The SBDC maintains a resource library of books, audio and video tapes on a variety of small business subjects. In addition, the SBDC has access to a wide range of information through resources such as the SBDCNet, SBA on-line, and various other on-line data bases. Through these resources, the SBDC can help you locate hard-to-find information vital to your business success through data base searches and access to vast research libraries.

WHO WE ARE. . .

The SBDC is a partnership program with the U.S. Small Business Administration. The SBDC is designed to provide small businesses with the practical assistance needed to survive, grow and prosper. The SBDC program is part of a nationwide system that links the resources of federal, state and local government to those of colleges, universities and the private sector to meet the specialized needs of small businesses. Counseling and other services are provided by qualified professionals.

HOW WE CAN HELP YOU. . .

In your first meeting, a counselor will make an assessment of your needs and discuss options available to meet those needs. Further discussion and/or on-site visits by the counselor help define your plans and pinpoint a strategy to achieve them.
